Frequently Asked Questions

ASTRONAUT TRAINING

Do I have to be a future astronaut to undergo Orbite space training?

No. You do not have to be a spaceflight ticket holder to train with us.

Orbite is dedicated to preparing anyone who is passionate and curious about space or looking for the next great space adventure experience. We strongly believe that individuals should train prior to purchasing a ticket – “try before you buy” – so that they can maximize their experience and decide which space mission is best for them.

How do I know which training program is right for me?

There are different levels of space training programs based upon your personal interest and/or space mission goals.

Astronaut Orientation is a great introductory program that provides foundational space education and training on what it takes to go to space and gain familiarization on what each different spacecraft and mission experience is like, from stratospheric balloons to suborbital vehicles, to orbital missions around the moon.

Suborbital Training is focused on short-duration suborbital flights and is an extremely useful program to ensure your few precious minutes in space are maximized and enjoyed.

Orbital Training is our most intensive and comprehensive program, which focuses on preparing trainees for mission critical activities required for longer duration orbital spaceflights.

How many people will be in my training program?

Each training class has a maximum of ten (10) participants, and can be tailored based on your training and spaceflight objectives. Each class has a lead and assistant instructor and is supported by subject matter experts throughout the program.

Can I reserve an entire training class for colleagues, friends, or family?

Yes. You may reserve an entire space training program for a group of individuals if you choose (a maximum of ten (10) people per class). Please contact us directly to arrange groups.

How much does each space training program cost?

Each program ranges in price and duration. View our Astronaut Training page or contact us at reservations@orbitespace.com for program cost, details, and itinerary.

Where is my space training program located?

Each Orbite space training program is held at one of our dedicated Orbite Campus locations. Orbite will have multiple locations – beginning with Orbite’s North America Campus expected to open in 2026.

Can I bring friends and family members with me?

Yes, friends and family are encouraged to join or accompany you!

Are there any fitness, age, or medical restrictions?

Orbite’s mission is to prepare everyone to travel to space and our training programs have been designed to accommodate most performance levels. Our trained experts and medical staff will work with each individual and evaluate their spaceflight readiness and may recommend consulting a physician to see if this experience is appropriate for you.

Generally speaking, you must be at least 14 years of age, in good health, and be able to perform basic physical and mental tasks — like pulling an object toward you or critical thinking. We can also develop special training sessions to meet specific age, fitness or medical requirements.

Please refer to each program description or talk to one of our team of astronaut trainers to explore what training is best for you and what requirements might be imposed. You may reach our team at reservations@orbitespace.com

What will I receive as part of my training program?

All training programs will take place at one of our dedicated Orbite Campus locations. Your training program is all-inclusive, meaning that your accommodation, meals, amenity access, and the training itself are all included. In addition, each trainee will receive a coursebook, mission badge and a certificate of achievement.
